Dear Viking Students and Parents,

Congratulations!  We have just completed Credit Check #6.  With only two credit checks left, time will pass quickly, and I encourage you to spend as much time as you possibly can to earn credits to either graduate in May or put yourself in a position to participate in the October graduation, return to your home school, or graduate in May of 2016.  In addition to the last two credit checks, there are some other important events in the coming weeks.

First, there two opportunities for taking California High School Exit Exam, one in March and one in May.  Our seniors and sophomores will be taking the CAHSEE on March 17th and 18th.  Our juniors and seniors will be taking the CAHSEE on May 12th and 13th.  In April, 10th and 11th grade students will be taking the Smarter Balanced exams.  Our 10th graders will be taking the SBAC in life science and our 11th graders will be taking the SBAC in English and math.  I have great faith in our students’ ability to shine on these important exams, and I encourage you to work hard to show all that you have accomplished in your time at Valley View High School.

For students to have the best possible chance at realizing the goal of graduating from high school, they must attend school every day.  Attending school and getting to class on time are habits that will serve you well as you move into post-high school training, college or careers.

In conclusion, we are committed to creating partnerships with our students and parents so that we may work effectively with all our wonderful Viking students.  If you have any questions or concerns, I invite you to please stop by the office or call at any time.

Thank you,

Bart Goldstein, Principal
