Dear Valley View and Community Day Students, Parents, Guardians and Community,
It’s hard to believe that first semester is already coming to a close, with only a short time until Winter Break. It has been a remarkable semester, with students working diligently to make up credits. I am so proud of the hard work of our students and staff, and we see the results of this hard work every credit check.
Because Valley View High School is designed to allow our students to work at home, they have a unique opportunity to continue recovering credit outside of school hours. I encourage our students to seize this opportunity and to work until the end of the semester, and even during Winter Break.
Also, since Valley View students work at their own pace and we do not follow a traditional finals schedule; therefore we will only have a minimum day on the last day of first semester, Wednesday, December 21st. School will end at 12:00 p.m. on that day. I strongly encourage all our students at both schools to attend school every day and to make good use of the time after school.
Community Day School students will remain on their regular schedule for the remainder of the semester. The last day of student attendance is Wednesday December 21st. Students will be dismissed at the usual time, 2:35. I encourage all of our students to continue working hard and make every day count.
One of my favorite sayings is from an unknown source: “Every morning you are handed 24 golden hours. They are one of the few things in this world that you get free of charge. If you had all the money in the world, you couldn’t buy and extra hour. What will you do with this priceless treasure? Remember, you must use it, as it is only given once. Once wasted, you cannot get it back.”
I wish each of our students, staff, their loved ones, and the Community Day School and the Valley View High School community a holiday season filled with happiness and peace.

Operation Clean Sweep
CLEAN SWEEP - ONTARIO POLICE PARTNERSHIP WITH VALLEY VIEW
Valley View High School is proud to introduce a partnership with the Ontario Police Department through Operation Clean Sweep. The philosophy behind Clean Sweep is to work together to reduce juvenile offenses on school campuses, to foster a spirit of cooperation between the police and schools, and to increase campus safety. Administration and Campus Safety Officers are trained to recognize specific juvenile infractions and utilize the Juvenile Citation Program. Students will face a judge who may impose a fine, community service, and/or counseling classes. These penalties are in addition to whatever disciplinary consequences are imposed by the Valley View school administration. Behaviors that can result in a citation are:
Operation Clean Sweep is a multifaceted program that seeks to enhance the security of all students in school while, at the same time, establishing responsibility, discipline, and accountability in respect to student’s actions.
