E2020

Valley View High School has partnered with Edgenuity, an interactive learning environment, to help guide students toward academic success and recover credits to help students graduate. Valley View High School is pleased that you are joining us on our adventure into online learning! With lessons designed to provide you with instructional content and show you how that content correlates to your real world, we hope that you will not only thrive with Edgenuity, but flourish.

The Virtual Classroom is the portal to your lessons; it is also where you can find your Progress Report, Assignment Calendar and other features designed to keep you informed and in control of your own education. Parents can also track progress by providing the school with an email address where progress reports can be sent daily or weekly.

Alternative Education Center Family,

Thank you for a great start to the 2018-2019 school year! We are moving full speed ahead at Valley View, Chaffey District Online, Community Day, Alternative Studies, and CSOP, ensuring your students have all the support they need to have a successful year.

As we move forward, I encourage students to set important goals such as getting to school on time, working hard and being present in class, and spending extra time at home to complete your coursework. I also encourage students to get involved and get moving by taking ROP, Adult School, or community college courses, and by participating in community sports and arts programs.

Parents, I look forward to meeting with you at our Coffee or Popcorn with the Principal Meetings. This is my chance to share where the school is at and where we are heading as well as having an opportunity to hear your feedback. The first VVHS Coffee with the Principal is September 20th at 9:30 a.m. The first CDOHS Popcorn with the Principal will be held on October 25th at 2:30 p.m.

I’d also like to remind parents and guardians that our doors are always open. Stop by and visit me, our admin team, or our counselors any time to ask questions and to receive updates on your student’s progress. We always look forward to working with parents as a team to support our students.

IMPORTANT: On Tuesday, August 28th, the Valley View, Chaffey District Online, and CSOP will host its annual Back to School Night. Our program will begin with a welcome presentation in the MPR at 5:45 p.m. Parents will be dismissed to their individual schools and programs shortly after. We look forward to seeing you at this important event where you’ll have an opportunity to meet all your student’s teachers and hear about their classes. Additionally, on Wednesday, August 29th, a minimum day will be observed by VVHS, CDOHS, and CSOP.

It is my honor to work with such fantastic students and our amazing staff to make the Alt Ed Center a welcoming environment where all students have choices that will change their lives. I look forward to a wonderful school year.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Prestsater

Operation Clean Sweep

CLEAN SWEEP - ONTARIO POLICE PARTNERSHIP WITH VALLEY VIEW

Valley View High School is proud to introduce a partnership with the Ontario Police Department through Operation Clean Sweep.  The philosophy behind Clean Sweep is to work together to reduce juvenile offenses on school campuses, to foster a spirit of cooperation between the police and schools, and to increase campus safety.  Administration and Campus Safety Officers are trained to recognize specific juvenile infractions and utilize the Juvenile Citation Program.   Students will face a judge who may impose a fine, community service, and/or counseling classes.  These penalties are in addition to whatever disciplinary consequences are imposed by the Valley View school administration. Behaviors that can result in a citation are:

  1. Truancy
  2. Possession or use of tobacco (or products)
  3. Littering
  4. Fighting or disturbing the peace
  5. Keeping property
  6. Petty Theft
  7. Minor in possession of aerosol paint can
  8. Affixing graffiti
  9. Under the influence of alcohol or marijuana
  10. Possession of alcohol
  11. Possession of marijuana

Operation Clean Sweep is a multifaceted program that seeks to enhance the security of all students in school while, at the same time, establishing responsibility, discipline, and accountability in respect to student’s actions.
